Stephen is an award-winning composer whose work ranges from scores for West End musicals to choral and instrumental music and music for media. His musical theatre work has been performed internationally in the United States and Europe. Stephen was chosen to work with Stephen Sondheim in the 1990 Oxford Masterclass. He is represented by Charles Walker at United Agents London.

Recent News
MADDIE featured in three performances at the New York Theater Festival (the biggest and most prestigious playwright/musical festival/competition in the United States) in November 2023 and was nominated for seven NYTF awards winning for Best Score. MADDIE will now play Off Broadway in Spring 2025 in a season at the Players Theatre directed by Andrew Winans.
MADDIE (in a newly revised version) played the New York Theatre Festival in November 2023 prior to a run at the Players Theatre, New York in Spring 2025 directed by Andrew Winans.
MADDIE was nominated for seven awards at the New York Theatre Festival including Best Production, Best Score, Best Direction and Best Choreography winning for Best Score
THE RETURN OF PETER PAN premiered at the Theater Regensburg, Germany on the 4th of November 2023 and plays in repertoire till February 11th 2024. The show is licensed by Concord Theatricals Berlin.

Stephen and Shaun McKenna have written a new song, 'The Rules', for Meredith Braun's stunning new album 'When Love Is Gone' from Stage Door Records.

NIGHT SHOOT
This new musical is set around the filming of Les Enfants du Paradis in Nice, in Nazi occupied France and centres on brother and sister Lucien and Blanche Dombâsle who are in the Resistance.
